My mate has the '07. The pair aren't far off really in terms of ride, the only real difference is the geometry and the shock (i have Van'RC, he Has DHX 5.0). My short 02 suits my flicky style, I find his is too long and slack for me. The 02 corners like a fly, great for our twisty UK trails.

I've not actually ridden the older one, so can't comment, but I tried an '06 in Whistler and LOVED it. Perfect bike, even with uber slack head angle, for Whistler!

ah yeah, for big fast, open trails like that, the 06 will be the better bike. That's why they slackened the head angle afterall... My mate's was quicker on the open bits in france. Mine's quicker in the tight twisty sections.

And yes Simple Jumper, i probably do. Those grips just feel comfortable.

Oh that..lol. I've always run my lever really far inboard. I only use the tip of the lever.
