Triple to Single Ring

Ok, do I need to get a bashguard when I sap from triple ring to single at the front, or can I get a set of shorter bolts and sleeve?
Or failing that, should I bodge it and just file down the bolt sleeves so that they fit properly?
I know I could use spacers, but that just looks crap...

Its up to you whether you use a bashgaurd. Do you think youll need one?
The bolts you have should be OK, but if not just go to your LBS and buy some shorter ones... Or ask if they have any in their box of bolts if you're cheeky.
Filing them would be hard to hold them, and if you did it would be damn near impossible to screw them back together...

ok, filling doesn;t sound such a good idea
I know from experience that if I use the original bolts then I'll need spacers, thats what I'm doing atm
Bashguard, I would use, but its just more money, and whether its necessary is another question
I'm thinking of getting a Boxguide, and it would be easier to set that up without a bashguard as well
I'm guessing these are the sort of bolts you mean?

I just got a boxguide (ebay for œ41) and i don't think you could use it with a bash unless you somehow removed the front of the 'box'. Also, the mounting plate for the roller hangs so low, i don't think you'll want to be bashing into things without damaging the guide.
Those bolts look fine.

are you trying to run a tensioner or not? Have you got a bashguard yet?
on my setup i have 2 bashrings on the front, and truvativ on the outside (which came with bolts) and a blackspire one that i've 'adjusted' to fit on the inside (which fitted with the normal bolts)
