Mountain bike music

I`ve been every year to the World Cup at Fort Wully and it`s undoubtedly the highlight of my year. The only thing (in my opinion) that could be improved is the music. Last year we had britney spears and Status f**kin Quo as well as a host of other gash.
I understand you cant have punk/grunge/thrash metal playing most of the time as they have to cater for everybody but Britney and Girls aloud FFS?
Any opinions on this? What kinda music suits DH and 4X?

Britney may make you more fearless downhill though, as slamming into a tree doesn't sound like such a bad idea while listening to it.

Any fast paced music really, with the exception of power/death emtal etc. Although, the odd bit off A7X isn't too bvad whilst riding, but in moderation. Popular hiop-hop tunes are always good, as in Sweatshop, fort minor, swollen members, Ghostfaced killah etc. obviously Prodigy are a favorite, but that goes without saying.

Top tune btw. Clarkson, the mech is a Paul Components job. Its old but still looks new. I don`t use it now.

music nazi'ism FTL, but it is annoying (I notice it on XFM a lot) when they 'leave this hour open for you to choose the music', yet the people they put through choose pretty much the A-list radio songs.

i've sent in to those before, with stuff from famous bands, but album tracks, and just stuff that isn't heard as much, and got no-where. Whats the point in it?

I've often wondered if they simply choose the callers who want tracks that are already on the playlist anyway.
Kinda like, they need to play these 5 songs, so they just wait until they get someone that wants those five songs before they play them.
Or maybe I'm just paranoid?

The other thing that winds me up on call-up shows is when you get people requesting a "really bangin' track" and then they ask for some lame ass commercial dance track, or a laid back track, but they get so excited!

Pulley are my in band at the moment. Most folk havent heard of them I know Fort Wully this year will have some stinking music playing on the 4X and DH runs again. Peaty flat out and catching big air and you have Girls Aloud playing. [:(!] Sad really but what can you do?
