Has anyone got any suggestions for a program that will limit a users bandwidth usage and cut it off completely at certain times?

Getting a little stressed with my sister using up all the bandwidth downloading music on limewire at all times of night.

not simple, because that wouldn't stop her using it, and i'd be the one conducting the cleanup operation [:(]

Trust me, i'd already thought of it [:D]

I personally dont use limewire anymore because i didnt want to get shagged by the policey people.
Just use your sisters computer, download some porn film with her limewire, and then tell your parents you found it on her pc and shell get a rite talking to.
then again thats maybe not such a great idea...

Just downloading netlimiter now. with any luck it'll work. i think i can completely block programs internet access with that. i tried blocking the port through my router. but without much success.

Does your broadband router allow usage timetables? Quite a few Linksys ones do, to prevent kids from spending all night on the net when they should be sleeping.

Hmm. Most routers allow you to enter a machine's MAC address and set rules per machine. Are you sure you're using it correctly?

Also, if she's using Vista (ooooh, early adopters!) that has an internet time limiting function built in, plus application blocking for the net etc.

iirc, netlimiter can remain hidden. so she'd never even see it [:)]
