Just bought the mrs some mavic 07 crossrides, fitted deore 9sp cassette looks hunky dorey, im buying a 68mm BB and a chainset with a 48mm chainline, ive been reading up on chainlines on parks website and it's over my head, when i have built my previous bikes ive never measured anything and its been fine ( although ive only ever had DH bikes ) so heres my question.
Will they work ? i mean she will have LX fr/rear mechs, deore 9 speed cassette with chain and a set of front cranks with a 48mm chainline ( heres the link to the chainline topic on parks website http://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=74 ), the last thing i want is the chain rubbing on cogs in certain gear combo's as you can see at the bottom of the park link above ^

hello again nick, opting for these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=7604 i know you said look at the hollowtechII LX's but it's an extra œ20 over the fsa cranks and ISIS BB. I'm not entirely sure how hollowtechII bb/cranks work as im only used to the conventional square/splined, if you believe its in her best interest to get the hollowtech's then it shall be done, all i want is the damn bike to work lol, can i ask what u meant by only 0.5mm out ?
Thanks in advance buddy
Also, would the LX HollowtechII cranks/bb work with the deore cassette / chain and lx mech setup ? the last thing i want is incorrect gear changes and rubbing of the chain. You sound like you know your stuff so i will await your advice if you have msn is there any chance you can add me on ionandy@hotmail.co . uk.

standard chain lines are 47.5mm or 50mm so 48 will be fine. dont worry about them they will be fine.
