No, a QR will not hold your wheel as securely as bolts. It may well move if you use a very large disc rotor or fail to set the axle against the end of the dropout.

    <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
Or hang up on a landing/rock and push the axle back in the dropouts.

I had QR and used 160mm Avid Juicy 5's.
If I braked too hard, both wheels would dis-align, and rub against the frame and forks.
They <i>were</i> the stock wheels on a Saracen Xile, but still.

    Both wheels?
Even with Chain tugs I never got the rear wheel to stay straight when I had QR.

But then, what can you expect from a low end Saracen.
With my new wheels, I don't even need the chain tugs I bought anyway.

it can be a problem with some Qr skewers, but you'll never beat a bolt up axle for that kind of useage.

I ran a QR for a while on my Balfa when I shagged the threads in my hub, and I had an XT one, It never ever slipped. Just do it up tight enough and use chaintugs.

When i had my old trailstar frame with horizontal dropouts, they were an absolute pain. If you didnt do the QR up tight enough, and by tight enough i mean as tight as you can get it, then the wheel would slip slightly in the frame when you slam on the anchors.

It will work, but its even more of a pickle when you're running gears, as i had a hangar integrated into my tensioners, and they were a pain to put back in place once the wheel is ready to go back on, after maintinence.

Why not get DMR or HOPE hubs with bolt in fixings? They use a 5mm hex, and lock as good as 15mm track nuts.

yeah whatever noob, most people like it, and most people are helpful and cool around here.

just seems that you've turned up with the attitude that theres no rules and you own the place.

so either start your own topic, and wait for the friendly response that you get when you write normally, arent in a mood with everyone, and when you explain things properly.

    or

on the other hand you could go and throw your abuse and moodiness at some chavs or more deserving people than these guys.

    understand?

Theres no attitude over here i asked a quesstion & waited for a response (which related to the thread subject). Why you seem to think i have hi jacked a thread is beyond me. I visit other forums & see users posting threads to be told "do a search it has been covered before" now if the the question is being asked in a current/recent thread why would i start a new one ?

    Understand ?

wel, that short comment shows you won that argument, the stupid little 14 year old?

also, i think youll find ive made a perfectly valid point, that most people here will agree with, unlike you.

im basically followin the rules and 'beahving' as it is, you still have the attitude that you the best and you run the place. and whats so bad about talking to a 14 year old, therees a few people my age here, and younger.

    you stuck up...

Theres nothing to win, you said STUPID not me. If you can show me a rule where it states asking a question to a related thread is wrong then please do so. I only came on here for some advice hence the questions. I dont need comments from the top dog mod or users that are being pedantic about something that doesnt really affect them or anyone else. I mean seriously is it really that bigger deal ?

My answer would be NO to me & anyone else doing the same thing.

ye, well it looks like this topics going nowhere fast, so why dont you now start you own topic or thread? this ones had a whole page of us arguing, and no replies for either of our questions, so its probably time you made a topic asking your question?

like we said in the first place...

    duh.
