Giant Reign rear shock

Hi,
I've just bought a Giant Reign 3 (2005). It has a 'Manitou SPV Swinger 3 Way Adjust' rear shock. I was wondering how to set it up for my weight with a shock pump (there appears to be two valves - one with a black cap, one with a red) Are these for the same thing?
Sorry if my question seems rather obvious, I've never had a full sus before.
