or again from the same sticky <blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">IS mount as found on most frames and on the majority of forks.
But the sizing is different. a caliper (or caliper with adaptor) when moved from the front of a bike to the rear will require a disc of 20mm difference. front to back minus 20mm. back to front plus 20mm.

bloody hell!! a rear disc should be smaller. to have a caliper on the back for 160mm discs would mean that, to put the same disc and rotor on the fornt, you would need a 180mm disc and a +20mm adapter. if youve already bought the brakes, shoudlnt you have asked this before? and if youve ordered the sizes as 160 and 160 or whatever, you shouldnt need ot worry about adapters!
I said hit the brakes not the tree!!

But then again he may have cleverly Upgraded his fork to a wonderfull Manitou fork where he will find that the only way to get the front caliper to fit the fork is to bolt it on direct which would then require the 160mm disc to go on the front and then he would have no hope of getting the rear brakes to fit.
