Spyware removal

I somehow got mullered with spyware this morning.
Mcaffee can't find anything.
Ad-Aware found 148 infections, showed me 16 of them, which I killed but won't show me what the rest are

Anyone know why?
And if there's a good reason for it, what will work?

Ad-aware, when it finishes has like 3 tabs that you can click on, theres like critical and not so critical ones, did you check all the tabs?

Ah, if its the "negligible items" I don't think they're spyware, just temporary files that a lot of spyware reads. (i think).

Whilst you're on a spyware mission, might be worth downloading ccleaner and getting rid of a lot of crap.

On my first scan it kicked up 1.5gb of temporary files. The regcleaner is quite useful on it too.

worth running another anti-spyware program too

i use AVG as well as ad-aware

Yeah definatly get rid of temp files. when I have a few gig's of temp's it slows my system right down

CCLeaner isnt for spyware but it is amazing! Like someone mentioned, it removes every temporary file frees up space. Lists programmes that begin to run on startup which slows your computer down. Lists ALL programmes to unistall (not just the ones which windows shows). And finds and fixes problems in your registry. Best free web tool on the web.

I use Avast for anti virus, Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy for spyware, and Executive Software Diskeeper for defragmenting, it is very good at defraging, way better than the one windows is supplied with. Oh and Ccleaner.

Same here actually. Wouldn't let me log in to anything from IE or FF.
Ad-Aware found 48 files. First time I've had any in months.
Also, CC cleaner is a very good program. Cut my boot time to under half what it used to be.

Well Ad-aware keeps crashing when it shows the results.
I can't find Spybot search and destroy, all the links take me to adwareAlert which you have to pay for which I'm not going to do because 1) i don't want to, 2)I've probably got a keylogger.

Is the computer better? Also another thing you can do is to got to tools in IE if you use it and delete your browsing history this make the internet faster, have you done a defrag recently?

Update: I ran ccleaner, ad-aware, mcafee, search and destroy and spybuster and there is still a problem and windows explorer crashes now.
I've got 2 options left I can be bothered to try:
1)Microwave the HD
2)Back up what I can using ff to re-save everything to my mp3 player then restore the pc to it's factory settings.
