I mostly do downhill, freeride and occasionally dirt jump. Im fairly light but quite an aggressive rider and in the search of a new 9 speed chain as I have already snapped mine 3 times.
Right, I have managed to narrow my search down to 3 of them.
1. SRAM PC 991 9sp Cross Step
2. SRAM PC 991 9sp
3. KMC X9 9sp
Any one used any of these? If so please tell if they are any good.
Many Thanks

I have a SRAM 991 chain, best chain ever used. with a gold powerlink, means the chain comes apart REALLY easy. Never had a problem,as long as you maintain it properly.

My opinion ( for what its worth )I am an 18 stone beefer with legs that match to get my lard arse up hill so I grind chains and chainrings quicker than most , My views... . Shimano XT ( like butterscotch, tried 3 broke em all on 2 different bikes ) KMC titanium nitride coated gold one ( good chain, strong and light but goes quickly in many places when its worn lasted me 6 months of real tough winter riding )sram pc971 strong chains but the links are corr blimeye in my opinion had 2 of them and had a sticking link on both ( could be unlucky but from different shops..mmmm ).Connex wipperman 920 teflon.....this is just one muther of a chain..I dont wanna sound anal but I can tell the difference between this and all the other chains. Tough and Good at shifting. A chain i can fit and forget.
Thumbs right up for the connex wipperman...try one

Sram PC991 Cross Step.
Only ever snapped one sram chain, snapped on one of the links after over 2 years of abuse. Snapped many shimano chains. Sram chains are a darn site easier to join with the powerlink too.

Connex Wipperman chains are meant to be quite strong.
