I have an old bike ive bought from a friend and want to replace the grotty chain. It has a low-end Shimano groupset (cant remember what its called - whatever might come on an 7yr old œ350 bike!) with a 7spd cassette. Will an 8spd chain be compatible?
Many thanks.

chain tool (hell even bolt croppers or a hacksaw would do it)
