sorry, i'm just a bit shocked that someone is actually asking us what they should be riding?

do what you like, how you like. no point asking us to tell you what to do!

Constantly pushing yourself to new levels... Constantly falling off, but getting back up and re-doing what threw you.
Out every day. Also with a pratical knowledge of how the bike works, why it works that way and how to use that knowledge to improve technique.

There isn't really a bar to measure yourself upto unless your pro. Just keep attacking it every day, if you can't ride, build. If you have no building to do, strip clean re-build.
That would make you "good" in my opinion.

    this is BAAAAD

who gives a corr blimey what you can do, mbukjames is a lier and can't do what he says, as for whats 'good' it depends what you want to ride and what you're comparing yourself to.

el cap is a 'good' rider at what he does, trains hard, can ride quick when needed etc, yet probably wouldn't look so 'good' on a 4X course. so its all a matter of opinion

Okay... you're 14 and clearly need someone to massage your ego which is cool and everyone of us was probably similar in some way when we were a teenager.

Thing is kid this isn't the olympics, its a very personal hobby to most that do it. There is a hierarchy of ability only to yourself so why don't you understand what others can do by going and watching in whatever biking you like and then compare yourself to them, if anyone. Seriously though it ain't about comparisons, no-one gives even half a crap what strangers can do.

Watch others and see what they can do if you really want a way to assess your ability but like we have all said 'whats the point of that?'

    Peace, G

You should be riding all the time, and riding everything if you're as good as you say you are.

Failing that, we need to shrink your ego.

    No. One. Gives. A. Crap.
  • Ride what you want to ride, dont ride what you dont fancy. Push yourself always, just progress...try and learn what you think would be cool to do, dont ask others for their opinion, if your a jumper, learn a few tricks you like, if your a DH'er, push yourself, if you freeride, ride off stuff, do skinnies etc...stuff like that. I ride everything, so I try and do bits of everything, learning moto whips and little tweaks, pushing myself on the downs, progressing the height of my drops, training hard for XC, general crap like that.

Ride in a 24 hour solo XC race

That's my aspiration for the next year. Preferably in mid-winter to increase the overall horridness of the experience.
