Hi All.
Ive just bought a Kona Lana'i '07 and would like to get a cycle computer but there are just too many to choose from. Could anyone please shed any light on some good ones to go for. Ideally under œ30 but I would like something which has some useful functions such as auto scrolling so no need to press the button to see how fast / far I am going.
Im a casual cycler so dont need anything too fancy.
I've seen the Cateye Micro Wireless syllabub around œ26-œ35 but dont know if this is a good brand or if there is something better.
Thanks! [:)]

I wouldnt reccomend wireless, its too much hassle in my opinion. They may have improved now, but i got one 3 years ago and it kept on not working, so in the end i bought one with wires and it was a lot better.
It may have just been a bad experience, but it has made me lose faith in them

I have one of these http://www.cateye.com/en/product_detail/281 ok the backlight stopped working but I got a year out of the main batter and would never go back to a wired one as they just look awful, such a hassle to fit etc. I have had no trouble with this one even when riding next to my friend with the same model, ie no interference, about œ30-35 on ebay I think

I bought a wireless Topeak Panoram V12 mini and love it, highly recommend it. The mount is really cool, much better than others I've seen.

Doh! Hear this after I bought it!
I think this shouldnt be a problem as the display shows several lines at once so its not like you only see 1 function at a time.0 -
I agree, the Cateye Micro is a very good choice and after all, how many functions would you want to see while riding your bike ?
I generally have mine set on ride time or ride distance and the current speed is there anyway. At the end of rides I check average speed as some kind of indication of fitness and max speed to see if I did go as fast as I thought on that downhll section.
A computer is probably something you might glance at now and then and check at the end of rides in my opinion.Dave S0 -
Can any of these be mounted on a 16" wheel?0

should do
if not you can do some calculations to the sheel size (times by 8 and divide by 5) set it to kmh and it will be showing you the mph
