Did U know,,,

If your sunscreen is 12 months old, then the SPF (sun protection factor, for those of us who dont understand L'oreal adverts)will be HALVED. thats not all, it continues to degrade as time rolls by until it is about as much use as crisp 'n' dry.

hence, I got my arse burned seriously on sunday, as my vintage sunscreen has turned into SPF F**k All.

Stay Safe - Buy New Sunscreen

Where did you find that out? Sunscreen is expensive. I always wear old stuff.

SurferMick, where/why were you running about with your bare arse showing?!

Its an English tradition to throw off the Fox / Endura / Gore tex etc one Sunday a month and ride out wearing nothing more than a big smile and day-glo 80's vintage brazilian speedos

i never wear sunscreen. apart from if im on holiday.

i have only burned twice. once in malta, when i was playing water volleyball for an hour or so, and two years ago, then i was in just shorts for a day. i was on holiday in the north west, on a canal boat. doing locks all day topless, with just shorts and trainers and some sunnies on left me with some funny tan marks. nevertheless, you could tell i was wearing sunglasses.

I got burned pretty badly on holiday, pretty much all the skin on my nose fell off, to the point where it was bleeding.

    Not a nice holiday.

It doesn't quite compete with some of the others, but my shoulders got pretty burnt on Saturday from pedalling about between spots without a shirt on, and 'coz I was taking videos rather than riding...

I'd put sun cream on my face, arms and legs, but not on my shoulders, chest or back - I wish I had, it's a bit sore [:O]

Worst I got was sunday reading 2005. Got a bit hot so dunked my head under some water, then popped off to see a few bands in the blistering sun... My forhead was similar to the foot above, not as big blisters, but my whole forehead covred in them... As you can guess from the user name flash fry applies to me too!

Haha. Nah, since the burn was so mega I couldn't even put shoes on. Walking about bare foot all day does that to you [V]

My brothers shoulders blisered in the sun, then he went swimming in a public swimming pool, and they burst.

Just got back from SW France - was 30+ all week and I wore sunscreen and thus got a tan. However, on one of the days we went surfing it was misty; like misty so you couldn't see the beach or, you guessed it, the bloody sun! Didn't think to put sunscreen on. That night the parts of my body that were not covered by the wetsuit were bright red and roaring hot - my girl could feel the heat through my shirt over dinner. Has tanned well now though - remember the aftersun everyday once you have caught some rays, helps turn it golden brown.

Thanks for the tip on the old suncreen - didn't know that, I don't think the honeys do either - I'll have to tell her to buy new stuff for September.
