why does it suck??it's part of riding surely ?
be it 1ft or 30ft0 -
No idea, biggest one had either been at Glentress freeride/coffin drop at Ae or some of the drops at Innerleithen. Don't care how many feet it is, as long as its a good laugh.

jumping is too scary. i don't think i've ever done a big "huck". I enjoy the long jumps more than dropping off stuff, the biggest thing i've dropped off is like 2 feet [^].

Not a "huck" but this little ladder drop is about 2 metres

It has the nicest landing though.

MBUK once showed how they worked out there Huck Measurements when bender apparently did a 70 ft huck. What you do is take the vertical distance dropped and add the forward distance to that figure. So if you drop 5ft and its 4ft to the landing there calculations dictate a 9ft huck.
My biggest drop is about 10ft and I didnt like it and havent done anything near that big since then sticking to 4ft drops. However if I use the MBUK calculations the 10 ft becomes 15ft as the landing was 5ft out from the drop and the 4ft drop becomes 12ft as its more of a step down and the landing is a good 8ft away.

so, they arent using pythagoras' theorem and just adding the out distance to the down distance. if its a 10 foot dowm and 5 foot out, then the distance from take off to landing is actually 11.1 foot huck.
so they're talking a load of boll<s></s>ocks.

But that wouldn't be accurate. They don't go in a straight line from launch to landing exactly following the theoretical hypotenuse. Sooooo, following the parabola (is it parabolic? I can't actually remember) and seeing as you have the vertical and horizontal difference, plus the acceleration of gravity you could figure out the distance actually travelled, and the angle of launch I believe...

Thing is, depending on the angle at which they've launched (I think) the height+length could work out more accurate than the hypotenuse.

a drop is measured vertically down the face to the point of tranny/landing.any idiot can hoon off a 1ft drop with a massive tranny and go like 20ft down.
keep it real kids!0 -

using the mbuk method, about 8-9 foot. But in reality, the drop is 2 foot max, but i tend to launch 6-7 foot out from takeoff.
