1" forks?

Hey guys.
I am after a fork with a 1" steerer tube for my mum's bike, which currently has a rigid fork. Not sure how much travel it will need, probably 80-100mm and she dosn't need anything fancy as it will only be used for road and light trail. I have only been able to find one in Decathlon which is a bit TOO basic, so dose anyone else know of any others in the region of œ40-œ60.
Cheers,
Andy.

maybe something like second hand marz mx comp with a 1" steerer, they come 85mm and 100mm options i think. bit out of your price range new, but you should be able to pick up a bargain second hand.

Had a look on the Marz and Magura sites and couldn't see any. I know Marz used to do a 1" MX Comp but that is too expensive second hand. What she wants is just the basic ones you find on those dirt cheap full suss piles of crap you see everywhere now, just to stop our crappy roads from rattleing her teeth out.

we sell those cheap bikes at work, and most of them come with ZOOM front forks so maybe have a search around for those, should be very cheap

Are you sure the bike will work with a sus fork. If its an old bike, wihch it probably is as it has a 1" steerer, then the frame may be made for rigid only, and not work very well with sus as the front end will be higher.
Make sure you check the axle to crown height. Measure the axle to crown (directly if the forks are curved) and then compare to the sus forks. A small change can make quite a big difference.

Thats a good idea actually! I'll have a look over there the weekend.
It's not an old bike, actually got it brand new and very cheap off fleabay. It's a Skedadle Radon, and i got it just to get her back into biking again and get a bit fitter.
I will have a look for Zoom forks, thanks for the tip. And i don't think a small increase in height will make that much difference. She isn't going to be hucking of any cliffs any time soon so i don't think frame strength will be an issue, it will just be a case of getting the bars at the right height.
Thanks guy's,

'All the Marzocchi forks are for 1"and 1/8 frame. If you want to mount a Marzocchi fork on a 1" frame you can buy a special KIT, code number 508617.' http://www.marzocchi.com/template/detai ... Rjjhwwr%23
Is this some magical kit which would allow a 1 1/8 fork be converted and fitted to a 1 inch frame or is it a kit to fit a 1 inch fork to a frame with threaded headset?

boll0cks, I just threw out an Apollo frame with a 1" steer. If its still down the road (where someone moved it too then left it again!) I'll grab the forks.
