hi guys and girls how of you mountain bikes smoke and yes i do smoke but i what to give it up any ideas and what you think to bikers that smoke good or bad.

yer i do agree it is a digusting habit but i have been smokeing long before i was in to mountain bikes thats why got to stop is there any other bikers that smoke out there

Frequent smoking will just clog up your lungs and seriously impair your endurance. But cancer is cool.

I started from social smoking, thinking oh, Iv got some left over from last night. But I also enjoy it but on the otherhand I am addicted, I get grumpy, argumentative etc. when Iv gone without for too long. When I go over to France, cheap cigs FTW.

i smoke cos i like it. im not addicted. if you wanna give up then just stop smoking and put up with the discomfort you chose to start so now you have to deal with it.

Smoking can make you look cool, or uncool. It suits some people.

I guess it is a 'disgusting' habit. But only really in the same way that drinking (alcohol) is.

Its obviously best to try and stop, as it will most likely increase your biking ability and reduce your risk of getting some diseases. But, your going to die anyway eventually.

i used to smoke cigs and weed, but at its worst, i couldn't get to the end of my road without being out of breath.. so i decided to get a bit fitter, and now don't touch tobacco at all.. and smoke weed maybe 1/3 as much as i used to.

i enjoy my riding a lot more since i quit.. mainly due to the fact i don't think im about to die once i've finally dragged my ass up a hill.

As for ways of quitting... i just stopped.. left half a pouch or rolling baccy on the table, and threw it out after the first month. spent the next month or so finding rizla's etc all over the place that reminded me of cigs, but the occasional joint got me thru the needs.

no, im happy smoking and will keep doing for the time being.
As well as riding long distance road rides and being able to smoke most riders on the ups whilst on a dh bike.

they way i figure, i eat well, i exercise a lot, so i need at least 1 good vice
