my 888rc2x's are making a rattling noise in the first few mm of compression, it could be the springs rattling against the stantions but am not too sure, it feels like the springs aren't quite compressed, if you know what i mean,

naah i havent snapped a spring, the spring rate is the same and theyre running fine, i've only had them serviced a couple of months back, preload is wound full on, as i hoped this would help but no, i'm sure its just rattling springs as nothing sounds out of the norm with sag, hmmm

iirc the top loacataor for the coil is not the best. the 07 ones i have been playing with have had no probs.

look in the tech links sticky there is a linky for somw 05 888's.
just reemove tops and push the caps up to have a looky. if you are going any further you will need a foot nut tool or a box wrench.

I had the same sort of problem with mine. The lbs had fitted harder springs but they were shorter than the old ones by about 15mm. as a result the spring rattled around when the load was taken off the springs. Got the correct springs and had no more problems.Eagles may fly high but Weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.
