On another note, I may have eaten a slightly raw beef burger last night. How soon will I die/get tumours/AIDS/worms/etc? Or if I've made it this far whilst ok (albeit very hungover) have I survived?

You can't have raw red meat if it's been minced, then the bacteria that was on the outside of the gets moved to the inside and if it's still rare in the middle they won't be killed in the cooking process.
It is however most likely fine.
The first signs of food poisoning will show after 8 hours.

Steak Tartare = raw minced red meat

both safe and delicious, not so sure if it's been partially cooked mind you
