I've got next week off work and I'm looking for somewhere to go, I'm after a Trail Centre that's:

In Wales or the Southwest (I'd go further for a really top destination)

Has a DH Course with Uplift facilities and some good XC/All mountain trails.

Camping facilities nearby (that'll take a camper van)

A pub nearby.

Oh and not, Afan, Brecfa or Cwmcarn as they're my local centres and I fancy somewhere different.

Am I looking for the impossible?

Thanks

I think you may me asking for the impossible, as there are not many uplift facilities running throughout the UK on regular basis.

at the beginning of july myself and a mate are going on a short trip. we're from cheltenhamish and we're doing:
    sunday - nant-yr-arian 1/2 day ride
    mon - coed-y-brenin
    tues - gwydyr (?) forest
    wed - drive to scoootland
    thurs - Ae
    fri - mabie
    sat - dalbeattie
    sun - drive home

trails found from 7staines and mbwales websites. campsites in wales no more that 8 miles from trail head, 1 campsite up north to cover all 3 trails with no more than 30 min drive to each. drive in the morning to each place, camp over night. should be good. we were going to incorporate glentress/innerleithen into the scotland bit but we're not hardcore DH and dalbeattie seems a good enough trail. we'd call ourselves all mountain riders. not xc and not dh but somewhere in the middle and i think the choices of trails at the above mentioned should keep us happy. we're sort of afan - whites level riders.

I did the west of Scotland trip earlier this year and think you would be missing a trick being in that part of the world and missing Kirroughtree. Would rate that above Ae especially since the Omega man is closed during the week for harvesting.

As a Glentress regular I can also recommend that, lots of different trails to suit most styles of riding.

Not much further to Kirroughtree from Ae/Mabie/Dalbettie. Would recommend that even if you can't get to Glentress. Just sorted my second trip to the west at the weekend then my mates bike got stolen[:(] gutted!

Have fun which ever you decide on.
