I got given a Stuntjumper M4 hardtail frame (2004?) by a guy at work, complete with what I thought was the original bottom bracket and crankset. However, having tried to set it up with an XT front mech I can't get decent shifting onto the small chainwheel and I'm beginning to think that the axle may be too short.
The chainline with the inherited set-up is 45mm. I can't find any advice about chainline for this frame on the Specilaized web-site and Shedlon Brown advises only that 45mm may be too tight for a fat seat-tube.
Anyone out there with a well-set up hardtail Stuntjumper M4 who can measure their chainline for me please?
Thanks
Ian

set the chain on the middle ring front and back and it should be inline, if not you will be able to see what you need.0
