Strange, I've never had a problem with any of the ads and I use Opera as well. Not sure what you could do about it though

Yeah, that's one of the nice things about Opera. All the useful Firefox plugins are already built in.

Downloads manager is handy, Runs torrents and other downloads, Can pause and resume part way through and stuff.

TBH, i'm not sure how much of this is available in FF, but the tab-remembering thing's nice, the themes and widgets are easier to get hold of, the transfers dialog and the history are actually finished, the notes is nice. the torrent client is indispensible.
And it's actually configurable.
