Me and a friend are going to Afan after our GCSE's and are looking for campsites, we've found some around Neath and Port Talbot but being lazy and wanting to enjoy the riding in Afan, we wanted to know if there is anywhere else close than 10 Miles to Afan, we've google to no prevail.

Glyncorrwg campsite

About 30 seconds away from the cafe and 60 seconds from the riding. œ3 a night per tent. Showers, bike shop, excellent food, table tennis, hundreds of bike mags.

Perfect!

• Problem there is the locals, no offence is anyone is local to that area. But been there 4 or 5 times and end up with annoying local teenages ( sum violent ) swarmin around like flies

My advice in Glyncorrwg is to stay at queens bed an breakfast { 25 quid each a night with a huge fry up and coffee in the morning)then at night to go to the local pub and order beers and a curry or chinese takeaway and eat it there { they will even take you to another room to eat it}.Also talk to some of the locals we couldnt understand em at first then we had a real crack. lovely people who where real friendly and full of advice about hidden trails. We where worried about the feral kids and teens too until we actually said hello to them. They where nice as pie.Must admit we corr blimey ourselves with 6 grands worth of bikes in the van ( big locks and kryptonite cables all over the gaffe) and riding them past the packs of teens on the street. You gotta realise you in their backyard and you have to respect that they live there and they have fack all to do and fack all money since the mine closed.
They see us turn up with bikes worth 1000's and it must piss em off a bit. Hopefully they will get off thier arses and start using the excellent trails around the centre to thier own advantage.
Someone has got to napalm the midges though..clouds of em biting.

Big thumbs up to glyncorrwyg

thaibog, im on a very tight budget, so that's a no. Also, will these centers allow 2 16 year olds there without an adult? A few of my friends got turned down from one in Cwmcarn.

Cheers

I'd just turned 18 when I stayed at Glyncorrwg and I was with three 17 year olds. They didn't ask us how old we were so I would just get the oldest looking guy to do all the admin.
