I've posted in Tech but it's proven useless.
Basically the bolts that hold the magura mounting plate thing won't fit into my frame. Can i get smaller bolts that will fit my frame? Or should i just drill the frame out?

I believe i'm using my brain by asking rather than getting the bloody drill out. And i'm only double posting because i'd like to ride tomorrow morning and i fancied a brake for once.

1. Measure how much the bolt is sticking out when its in as far as it will go
2. Remove the bolt and cut same ammount off the end + a gnats wang for clearence
3. Clean up the end of the bolt and re-fit
4. Ride bikecicle

Noooooo. The bolt is too big diameter wise. It won't screw in at all.

So how were you planning to put the thread into your new hole?0

Do you have proper Magura 4 bolt mounts or 2 bolt post mounts?
Are you using the bolts that came with the brake?

To re-tap a hole isnt that hard just get a metric tap set from B+Q fit it in your battery drill , grease the tap , and go at it slowly making sure you are square on.
you'll probbly old mans stamp collection it up like ... but there ya go [:D]

Unless you have a tapping head for the drill with a clutch you will either nacker the hole or snap the tap.
Using a regular tap wrench is usually better anyway, Plus he didnt have the brake bosses in so hes going to the shop now to get it sorted.

Well there's 4 holes on my seatstay if that's what you mean. Just like other trials bikes, but the holes are smaller than other trials bikes so... Dunno. I'll go LBS on tuesday or tomorrow morning.
And yes, i'm using the QR bolts that came with the brake.0 -
You might have mounts for using a vee with 24 and 26..

4 smaller holes makes it sound like the dedicated Magura mount, Whats the frame?

Nope. Normal brake bosses are FAR too big to fit in there.
The frame is an atomz evo3

Thats definately a Magura mount, You need a new set of plates that clamp the cylinders. And you dont use the booster arch.

If it's a fucking magura mount, and i have a fucking magura plate and brake then why won't it fucking fit. I fucking hate bikes they're so fucking stupid, why can't we just have a bloody internation standard size for everything? BECAUSE IT'D BE TOO FUCKING EASY WOULDN'T IT.
