may not be possible. does the frame have a cable stop for a front mech?
really it sounds like you need a different bike. DH bikes dont need more than 9 gears.

thanks nicklouse the bike shop i e-mailed said:
Basically, you want to fit a double? If so, it depends on what you have
fitted at the moment. If you have a single speed set up at the front, it's
likely that you'll have to change the bb length and obviously replace rings
and fit a mech.
If you are on a triple, you will just need to remove the outer ring
(probably replace with a bash ring) and adjust the front mech stop screws.
do you know how much it will cost and is it better to get a bike shop to do it, i would really like this bike as its in good condition and very cheap.0 -
well first find out if there is a cable stop for the front mech cable.

thanks for reply i am not sure, is it just a case of a middle chainring cables and a front mech, how much do you think a bike shop will charge for fit all that?0

even if it hadn't got cable stops would you not still be able to do it by just having full-length outer and cable tie it?
