Les Arcs: Summer Biking

Although Les Arcs normally represents snowboarding to me, I have an apartment out there for a month over summer. In addition to more boring work related reasons for being out there, I intend to do quite a bit of biking too. I normally ride around the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains but I'm wondering if my 2007 Marin Nail Trail is going to be up to the job out there. Although I like DH stuff, I'm guessing that my conception of DH is going to be different from most here!
I will also be going out there with my girlfriend who has a 2003 Carrera Zelos (I know, I know!). She won't intend to be doing anything hectic but would like to get on top of the mountains and have a speedy obstacle-free run down.
Last question: bike bags. Any reasonably priced suggestions?
The best answer gets two weeks in the spare room + bike storage [;)]

Do you want a full susser or a hard tail. Full susser are for the more extreme. and hard tails are for the less extrme and are much easier to begin/learn on
If only road bikers could get proper bikes!!!!If only road bikers could get proper bikes!!!!0 -
I ride a hardtail, this year's 2007 Marin Nail Trail. My girlfriend unfortunately a Halfords 2003 Carrera Zelos. It is however equipped with a set of RockShox Judys and Hope Disc brakes so isn't totally without merit. What I was wondering is, are these are going to stand up to the riding out there? Although SO won't be doing be the knarly rocket up your jacksy stuff, is it too much of a 'toy' bike to take away with us?
Also, can anyone recommend a decent bike bag?0 -
CRC look to be doing a good deal on their own brand bike bag see below
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=15325, I would have thought the bikes will be fine they'll only really suffer if you're really launching them off stuff which it does'nt sound like you will be.
