I'm talking about the kind who can't let anyone say they like a game or console without going "no, xyz is better" as they try to prove their greater knowledge. Is it really necessary?

Not really, no. There's a difference between offering useful (though often blunt) buying advice, and having some in-your-face geek whose name you barely know trying to argue with you over Quake 1 vs Quake 2. Or mentioning that you own a 360, only to have someone immediately going "no way, PS3 is much better, blah blah blah, my e-Penis is 12 inches long...."

I've never met a biker who looked at my bike, saw the Vanilla fork and immediately goes "them's not as good as hydraulic bombers." Well, actually, I have. But he was a chav on the train who wanted to know if I did "downillin."

Xbox 360's are in my opinion the best games console for the money. If you can justify spending œ450 on a games console you need to take a large saw and cut your fingers off!
œ200 for a console is ok but anything over œ250 is crazy!
