Trip advice for the Yorkshire Dales

I'm planning to ride there for the first time in a few weeks time. Travelling from London so ideally want to stay as far south as possible and having done a bit of reading it looks like Settle has good access to a lot of the routes. Have I got this right? Also, will probably want to camp (trying to avoid the caravan club) so if anyone has some pointers on biker friendly sites that would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

If you'e planning on going to Dalby Forest whilst you're up there then there is a cheap but basic campsite just before the entrance

thanks for tips, i'm surprised at the apparent lack of decent campsites in the southern area.0
