I have a question, I'm new in mountain biking and I jst bought a bike with not that much travel on the front suspenssion and neither on the back one, is just about 3 inches (100mm) I want to get more travel do be able to absorb bigger jumps and drops. My question is: if I get a bette front suspenssion (130mm) do I HAVE to change the back shocks too?
Please let me know.
Thank you.

you won't be able to get more travel out of the back suspension because its all to do with the geometry, you probably could put 130mm forks on there but it would upset the geometry. i would just tighten up your suspension and then do the drops, the drops you do now how big are they and does your suspension top out?Best quote ever (pinkbike): "i've heard that Hill pees, deffecates, vomits and masturbates before each race to keep the weight down"0

The drops are about a foot or a foot and a half high. It doesn't top it all the time, but sometimes it does.0

just tighten the suspension, no suspension should top out at a foot drop, if it is you need to work on your bike skills.Best quote ever (pinkbike): "i've heard that Hill pees, deffecates, vomits and masturbates before each race to keep the weight down"0

Yeah, 1' to 1.5' can be done no trouble at all on flats, why I do that on my ss bike with a xc front wheel and i weigh 95kg

are the drops to a flat landing?
either way, a fork shouldn't bottom out after a foot drop, adjust the preload so they are harder and it should help.

Sometimes it overheats. You have to make sure it's in a ventilated place all the time.
