We have a contract with them and they are absolutely rubbish. When we asked if we could terminate the contract they said no "you signed it, deal with it."

Can they do that? I always thought that you could terminate things when you wanted to?

if you could terminate contacts then what would be the point in them.

Xerox as in Rank-Xerox?

As has already been said, contracts exist for a reason. You evidently haven't done your homework on contract law?

And Xerox don't suck, they invented e-paper for one!

it all depends on the contract period. it probably gets renewed yearly. we cacelled a broadband line at work but because it was a yearly contract, we had to keep paying for it

There will be a clause in the contract that means you can leave. But they probably havn't broken it. Your office sucks most likely, rather then a huge company like Xerox.

But if they aren't providing the service they should be, as set out by the contract and charging us more when it says in the contract it will stay at a set price, does that not technically mean they have broke it and we could cancel it.

And why the hell would I be "up to date on contract law"?!

What service did they not provide? TBH, I doubt a minion like you would know what was in breach of contract.

all depends what Termination rights are in the contract, if the person who put it together was clever he/she would of inserted a terminate without cause clause, if they didn't do that they suck and should be fired for being incompetant
