IPA help?
hmm i found using degreaser of some type let it dry then put them in the oven for an hour (make sure you don't want to use the oven for a while) is good
but with all the effort of fixing them you may aswell go buy your self some cool stop cinterd ones0 -
Same thing happened to me!
If you get oil or grease on the pads then you're best off just replacing them. The compound of the brake pad works like a sponge and will absorb any oil. If it was just an overspray of lube or WD40 then you can try burning it off and then sanding the surface of the pad lightly. However, it didn't work for me, neither did braking over and over again to wear the pad down and 'work' the oil out.
New pads in now and its perfect again - and i've learnt a valuable lesson - WD40 goes nowhere near my 'hopper!Specialized Rockhopper '07

New pads mate! i got brake fluid on mine and i even tried soaking them in clutch cleaner for an hour! brake and clutch cleaner was my best purchase tho, cleans the caliper up nicely and only takes a second! WD-40 over spray is a killer...
