Best Road Tyres?

Hi.

What road tyres do people use/ recommend?

I'm building a singlespeed with Hope hubs/ Mavic X517 rims and am looking for something to use mainly on the road but which will cope with dry cross country stuff occasionally.

Can't find any other topics on this already, but apologies if I've missed one!

Any suggestions/ advice very much appreciated.
