I have just bought, 2nd hand, a mint condition 2005 24seven dark angel slacker frame for œ100 (good deal?) and had a few questions that someone can hopefully help me with...
*Suspension forks or ridgid (and what models are recommmended)
*Budget (œ120max) wheels that are strong enougth to jump...any recommendations?
*Single speed or gears and if so what chainring sizes are recommended?
*Bmx or mtb style cranks? (I already have an adaptor to change to mtb)
Hope someone can help
Cheers Matt

Forks - If your going to be racing atall, suspension. argyles are a very good choice. best version you can afford.
Wheels - Halo Tornado/Combat/SAS.
Gears - Again, for racing you want gears.
Cranks - Either Gusset Pigmys, Profiles or Saints.

Something round here tastes bad. Could be plain old bad taste.

Suspension - Any of the marzochhi dj series. The best you can afford.
Wheels - Halo if you are looking for high strentgh and are not to bothered about weight
Singlespeed if you mainly ride dirt jumps and street.
Cranks - It will probably be a personal preference on which type you like. I have saints and have had n problems with them.

For racing you'll want sus, 8/9 gears with a chainguide and dual disc brakes.
For just plain jumping you might want rigid, singlespeed, rear V brake and BMX cranks.
So choose which one you're gonna do more of.
Forks: Rigids - Identiti Rebates, Sus - Marzocchi DJs or RS Argyles
Wheels: Mavic EX721 rims with the best hubs you can afford (DMR Revolver, Hope Pro II/XC). Easily the best extreme use 26" rim out there, no questions.
Drivetrain: Singlespeed - SS kit/cog (depending on hub) with Odyssey cog, KMC 510HX BMX chain, Profile/Primo/Odyssey cranks and a 7000 series alloy chainring, Gears - Roadie rear mech and cassette (Tiagra, 105 etc), Shimano Hone/XT/Saint cranks, MRP/Truvativ Boxguide chainguide.
