Hope this is not too off topic for this forum .
(apologies in advance )

I am looking to rig up some kind of helmet cam to take videos of me being a "scaredy" on my bike.

Has anyone got any suggestions on best buys, attachment ideas etc. I have done some research (via google) and have found many suppliers eg. http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/.

The problem is i cannot find any good reviews where the cams are compared. Any suggestions as to minature recording devices to connect to is also appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The dogcamsport ones are the finest I've seen. I was looking at them myself because I was told they're what the BBC et al camera guys use when they're after helmet cams.

  • Iggs,

Great blogg....when is "Part 2" out

Did you take the "canoe expidition" video using the dvr/mic/camera setup described in the blog. I am impressed with the sound and video with that.

You want the archos 404 with the archos headcam. œ250 in total.

I've been using it for a number of rides now and can send you a sample of the video quality if required.

    Ping,

Thanks, hope you find it useful.

Yep the expedition video was taken using the set up described. In fact all the videos listed down the side of the page have been shot using that camcorder and bullet cam. Obviously the non helmetcam footage is just shot through the camcorder lense rather than the bulletcam

There is no sound on the helmet cam footage on that bit of video because the mic I have is not water proof.

Part 2 will be done on my next bout of insomnia!! I need to get together some photos for it too to explain things.
