Never looked in a carb before, how do you know what size jet is in it? Does it say on it or do you have to measure it?

Derbi DB050.
It's a delorto 17.5mm carb.

some have the size stamped on the side. But the only way is to have them measured as you can drill them out and solder them up to change sizes.

Well i'm getting a new exhaust for my GPR50 Racing, and have been told by the shop that it will need upjetting, but i need to find the size of the standard ones , so he can send me some larger ones.
Need to decide between a Leo Vinci V6, Arrow or Malossi MHR!

I can get the Leo Vinci one much cheaper though...

Nope easy parts in belgium.
For 130 quid i can get the exhaust, 5 different jet sizes and a new rear light bulb, posted to my house.
As oposed to 170 quid for the arrow exhaust delivered.

Seriously, why are you bothering? I'm guessing you're 16 by the 50cc bit, why not wait a bit and get a 125? It'll be so much better than having a 'upgrade' on a 50cc 'motorbike'.

A year is a long time to wait.
Ima get a car at 17 anyway, but why not make the bike go a bit faster for now? It's not like I'm getting stung for petrol, tax or insurance atm and i have no rent/food/clothes to pay for.

There nothing wrong with 50's. Most people want a car when they turn 17. So its only for one year and beats taking the bus..

But it's not gonna make that much difference, you're fuel economy will worsen, and how will you use the extra speed it produces?
And it'll hardly make a difference when you come to sell it as well, and if it's only for a year then surely that's another reason not to?
œ130 to gain an extra 5mph and use more fuel for one year?

5mph is like 10% on a 50cc though.
I'm sure if most people with cars could get an extra 10% speed for 130 quid, they would. And it will still do about 80+ mpg.

Fair enough if i was going to try and get from 90-100mph out of a 125,there isn't any actaul NEED, but it will help stay in the flow of traffic without being super high in the revs.

How often will you max out a Hayabusa? NEVER. How often will you max out a 50cc moped? EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU GET ON THE BIKE. 50s are slow slow slow. There's not getting round that, but why not get a bit more out of it if you can?
I'm upgrading my 875cc, 39BHP engine in my imp. Are you going to tell me that that's pointless as well, simply because I want to travel at more than 65mph on motorway? Seriously, just because you don't like something, doesn't mean you're right. Because you're not. Simple.0 -
