    I take it you mean protect, password protect AND hide a drive?

    If you turn off 'simple file sharing' in XP, then you get access to all sorts of goodies, such as preventing any user from seeing, reading, writing to a directory, drive or whatever.
    So the only way to access such a locked folder would be to log on as the user who DOES have access, i.e. YOU.
    Would that be password protected enough for you?

    Active directory is for domain controllers, and is a kind of convoluted way of just protecting a drive!
