To want a pair of SC and a pair of DC forks for the same bike, that can be swapped over to suit a specific days riding?..
I have the SC's already but I'm tempted by being able to go DC also.

yes it is.
it would be better to get a DC that is for a different type of riding and then hang a new bike on the back.
you know you really want a second bike.

I'm currently riding a 7inch I-drive and it can go uphills fine and flies down (for me).
Which confuses it for me as the bike can do both up and down fine, though some days i want to do more up(xc) than down and vice versa.

It does seem a little strange. Especially since you are after DUC32 which are pretty flexy and that kind of takes away the major benefits of a DC fork.

DUC32 was just the first one I thought of really.
I was going to be really odd and use the Talas' for the downs and the DUC's forthe more XC stuff. Though this might go out the window soon.
DUC's were recommended to me ages ago for the more XC stuff, and thought it would compliment the bike more than at present.

How do you find the Talas' for XC then? I'm interested in an AM bike myself this winter.

They are most probably the best I've used, and to be honest I havent ever bottomed them out as of yet.
They can get a little tiring on the up though, but rewarding on the down.
Though I have only ever used a Judy TT and DJ1's in the past.

Wait, DC for XC? That sounds WRONG to me! why make your front end that heavy?
Which IDrive is it? Not the DH?

The DUC32's are surprisingly light (3.9lb) and flexy but they dont take a huge amount of punishment IIRC. They are stock on some of the whyte XC/AM bikes.
Its an I-Drive 7 1.0

Ahh so it is one of the big beefy ones then, I was going to say the Fox float RL120 I've found to be a superb XC/AM pair of forks. They seem to love the I drive too.

It is pretty beefy but can still climb really well.
TO be honest I'm starting to think to stick to the Fox's for now adn jsut build up a hardtailf ort eh les stuff rather than messing about. heh
