Hardtail frame

Im looking for a new hardtail frame and don't have a clue on what to buy. I want an aluminium frame that is of a reasonable weight (preferably under 2.5kg).
I ride dirt jumps, park and some drops. I want a frame that i can be confident with and wont snap when i hit drops. I was looking at the SantaCruz Jackal but its really heavy.
Please post any suggestions as they would be most appreciated.

Why aluminium? There are plenty of light steel frames out there that are up to the job.
Ideally, in your initial post, you should have posted a budget, and also stated what travel forks you have/ are planning to buy.

Personally I'd go steel for that riding.
Last Rufus is a real nice frame.
Pretty light and just looks so nice.

I know its a lot heavier than 2.5kg but i think the SantaCruz Jackal looks very strong. If you were to see me cycling along would you say the frame was horrible or not.
I also like the look of the Foes Predator but cant find one anywhere.0 -
IMO the jackal doesn't look as pretty or as good as any of the two Last steel frames, the Nicolai mtbmx, the Yeti DJ or the Identity.0
