Which bike?Spec.FSRXC/Cannondale Prophet/GTIdrive

Anyone got any opinions on any of the above? My dad is after an all round full susser geared more towards XC. Im a long travel DH lad so im not too well up on these bikes! He has around a grand to spend and has been looking at Cannondale's Prophet,Specialised's FSR XC and GT's I-Drive 5. I have also mentioned to him the Scott Reflex bikes and Trek's Fuel. If anyone has riden or owns any of these any chance of a bit of feedback or some reccomendations?

    i own a slightly older gt idrive, and my god is the i drive system good!! personally i wud go for the gt but its his choice in the end.

    I've got an FSR XC at the moment, its great, a bit heavy (mines the '06 Pro and weighs about 30 lbs)but thats easy enough to work around...the only problem is, unless you stick the pro-pedal on, when churning a big gear it bobs a fair bit, but otherwise its brill, I hammer it on the downs and its fine.
