i was thinking of a RaceFace Evolve AM Stem

Its a stem and bar mate, generally they just work.
EA70 is good kit as is the Raceface stem.

will they be strong enough for light free ride ie drops, trail jumps etc etc

The bars definitely will but I'm not sure about the stem.
You might be better off going for an Easton Vice, Bontrager Big Earl, DMR Headstock, Blackspire Big Block if you want a stronger stem.
Also, if you can afford the extra cash a Thomson Elite or 4X stem is very strong despite the light weight.Dave S0 -
