I am spending about œ300 on a new bike. i have narrowed my search down to either an STP2 or a Hardrock sport. i do a bit of dirt jumping and street but also a little trail riding. being reletivly new to mountain biking i still don't know which of the two types of riding i will be doing more of but i have heard the STP is a perfectly capable trail bike and the hard rock will stand up to dirt jumping. can anyone advise me?

the hardrock will handle a light bit of DJ, but it is heavier than the STP (IIRC)

i ride a hardrock. handles farly large jumps. frame has not broken yet. check my vid. you will need to upgrade the forks pretty fast though. i went through mine in 2 months.

Ive got an STP 2(albeit a heavily upgraded one),its in my Sig, its a great bike, but if your going to be using it for everyday riding as well it may be a good idea to get the larger frame. My forks broke after a few months of heavy use, but i am 15stone. Its a very good bike and i would recommend it

STP will be lighter, and as it is designed for jumping on, is liekly to be stronger as well

The STP will suit your needs far better than the Hardrock.

for dirt jumping the STP looks far better, but the HR would be better for XC

STP if you're going to jump more than XC.
