Dear All,
I have just received an XT M760 front mech and it is the type that you mount on the BB. I didnt realise this and I thiought it was an option.
I do need a new BB and have seen the XT - UN73. Is this the correct one to use with this mech? If not then please can someone tell me which BB you do use with this. Hopefully I dont need to buy the crankset because if I do I think Ill just buy another mech!!
Thanks for our help,
Rob

The bb mount one i think will go on any bb, seeing as you want a square taper, the xt one is fine, but it will fit on your current one, you just unscrew the bb and put the d‚railleur in and then reinstall the bb, the bb hold the d‚railleur on. But if you bought it online from a retailer you can return it inside 28 days and change your mind, probably much more sensible.

I'd just get your mech swopped.
If you've got a hardtail one of the mechs below would be best (check your mech size though)

If you've got full-sus frame then you might be unfortunate enough to be forced to get a topswing mech which aren't as good as conventional mechs in my opinion but these are ok.

If it's a rear mech you want, SRAM still rule (although the new Shimano are supposed to rival them) but Shimano are better front mechsDave S0 -
