first bike help

Hi, i need help in buying a bike im after something which can be used for downhill mostly just something for hardcore use and looking to spend under œ400

ive looked at the saracen RAW2 and wanted some feedback if it will do the trick for me.
or if you could recommend any other bikes

all help and advice is appreciated

    Under œ800, avoid full suspension. It'll fall apart and be more hindrance than help.

    œ400 won't get you anything suited to DH, really. For that you're looking œ1500+. It's worth looking at the ~œ400 DJ/FR hardtails, though, with a view to upgrading the fork to something that works in the near future.

    Your best bet is go to try and find a decent hardtail second hand.

    To be blunt, œ400 really isn't enough for a new bike for DH.

    Saracen RAW 2 no good then?
    also was looking to spend under œ400 but after reading that i can tell im guna have to boost that up to œ800 as i would like to stick with the idea of full suspension.
    any recommendations of full sus around this price wud be much appreciated as im new to this.

    aye i like, something like that take high impact? for example like launching it off a rather high wall. or going down or over rough surfaces?

    I don't really know much about the I Drive but with a 150mm sus you can't really go wrong..
    I've heard very good reports on it as a freind of mine has one..

    By downhill do you proper DH technical courses like fort will ect. or kind of all mountain riding. An all mountain full suss can cope with anbout 75% of the UK's trails. If so you should look at something like this.
