  • YES WE STILL HAVE THE OVAL RACE CIRCUIT AT THE PARK, STILL AS POPULAR AS EVER, WE ALSO HAVE ONE OF THE MOST AWESOME KARTING CIRCUITS IN THE COUNTRY THAT HAS JUST BEEN RESURFACED, A BRAND NEW OFF ROAD KARTING/BUGGY TRACK THATS THE CLOSEST THING YOU CAN GET TO RALLY DRIVING FOR KARTING MONEY, THE ONLY PURPOSE BUILT BANKED SPEED SKATING CIRCUIT IN THE COUNTRY, A REMOTE CONTROL CAR RACING TRACK AND CLUB, BSM MOTORCYCLE TRAINING, YOUTH PROJECTS WORKING WITH MOTORISED AND NON-MOTORISED ACTIVITIES FROM CYCLING AND SKATEBOARDING THROUGH TO TRIALS MOTORBIKING AND RALLY DRIVING, WEST MIDLANDS POLICE DO ALL THEIR MOUNTAINBIKE OFFICER TRAINING FROM THE PARK AND OF COURSE WE HAVE THE BIRMINGHAM WHEELS BIKE CLUB THAT IS DEVELOPING THE FOLLOWING FOUR TRACKS AND TRAILS:

    BMX / 4X TRACK
    FREERIDE SINGLE TRACK
    NORTHSHORE / TRIALS AREA
    DIRT JUMP / SLOPESTYLE AREA

SO AS ANYONE CAN SEE FROM THE ABOVE WE DO HAVE A LOT GOING ON AT THE PARK AND WITH PEOPLES HELP WE CAN PERFECT THE FOUR AREAS THE CLUB IS WORKING ON-THE VIDEO GIVES YOU A GENERAL IDEA OF SOME OF THE STUFF WE HAVE SO FAR.

PLEASE DON'T BE NEGATIVE ABOUT SOMETHING THAT I'VE WORKED MY BO**OCKS OFF BUILDING (90% ON MY OWN)

THE CLUB NEEDS PEOPLE TO COME UP TO THE PARK AND HELP BUILD AND DEVELOPE WHAT COULD BE THE BEST RIDING FACILITY IN THE WHOLE OF BIRMINGHAM.

WE DON'T NEED PEOPLE BEING CRITICAL AFTER JUST WATCHING A VIDEO OF WHAT WE'VE GOT TO OFFER PEOPLE AT THE MOMENT. YOU MAY WANT TO DO YOUR HOME WORK AND YOU'D FIND OUT THAT IN THE EIGHTIES THE PARK WOULD HAVE OVER 1000 BMX RACERS ATTENDING RACES FOLLOWING THE PARK HOSTING THE 1983 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! - THE HERITAGE OF THE PARK IS LEGENDARY WITHIN THE BMX AND SKATING WORLD

ALL I CAN SUGGEST IS PEOPLE COME UP TO THE PARK AND HELP DEVELOPE THE TRACKS AND THEY CAN USE THEIR OWN CREATIVITY TO BUILD SOME GREAT STUFF.

    SEE YOU WEDNESDAYS GUYS???????

  • red eye, you'll know my line manager Rob then eh??!!

yes i work with the youth project and one of the last times the red and yellow cortina stock car was driven was by me and i went flying through the air after losing it and going up the grass bank, i've jumped plenty of bikes and motorbikes but it is scary jumping cars!!

oh the cortina is now mangled in the Northshore area ready for being buried in dirt to form the landing ramp for the big ladder drops!!!!!

cheers for the complement on the video, the singletrack is about another 100m longer now, it's nearly at its full length, another couple of weeks and we'll be going back up the length of it putting in all the technical trail features and perfecting all the dirt sections on it.

  • red eye: yeah rob used to work at motorvate, whats your name i'll tell him you said hi.

cheers for saying it's looking good guys, i'll hopefully start working saturdays soon and once it really starts getting busy we'll be needing volunteers/workers to help supervise and run the club during the busy parts of the week.

building for tomorrow night is the 2 foot ladder drop on the Northshore area, i built the 1 foot drop last week and the 1 foot and 2 foot drops will lead to a beginners run through the Shore area.

    anyone else popping up??

  • HUGE thanks to everyone that came up to Wheels Park last night, i was knocked off my feet as to how much work we got done, many hands make light work!!

at a glance i think we had about 20-25 people there, if we keep getting numbers like that the place will be SO good in next to no time. i didn't have enough tools or jobs to keep everyone going, i'll do some more preparation for next week. feel free to bring your own tools to help guys, just label them up so i don't donate them to the park!!! hee hee, we are a charity!!!

i think we'll either carry on the beginner run in the Northshore area or make a start surfacing the second jump on the race track, although hold on, if we get the same amount of people or more turn up we can do both-cool!! hey it wouldn't hurt for us to carry on the length of the singletrack either!!

couple of jobs for the digger tho, one is make the first race jump a regular table instead of step down table and also to roughly build the berm on the corner where the singletrack is down to at moment ready for the cwn carn style wall ride.

    check the video: http://www.mtbbritain.co.uk/images/Birm ... Trails.wmv

    see you next wednesday???
