Steams messing up

I know this should be on the steam forums, but theres so many topics there, I don't know how quickly I'll get a reply.

So, steam used to start fine. Then when I tried to run it the other day, it just didn't work, and hasn't done since.
I go start>steam>run steam

I then get this message:
Message

Followed by this error message:
Error

Anyone else got this? Anyone else fixed it?

Any help would be nice.

Wasn't running in the taskbar, no. Just, didn't even start to run.
Tried a reinstall before, but trying it again.
Right, I just reinstalled it. Feel like an idiot now, considering its working.

Installing games on steam is such a biaaaaaaatch!. Taken me the better part of a day just downloading and installing Half Life 2 + Episode 1, Counter Strike Source and Day of Defeat.

Steam is a pile of crap - never works. Nothing you can do about it but put up with it! Just reinstall Steam - and it should fix the problem. Im not sure if you can do a repair install - if you can give that a go it can often fix niggly errors like that. Just click on the installer - and you should get the option to repair it.

Well, when I used to have dialup, I was pleased when a flash cartoon loaded up in less than 10 minutes.
Then I went to broadband, and it pi<s></s>ssed me off if it took longer than a minute. Now on a 10mb connection, its like driving a nissan micra, then driving a lamborghini, then driving a ford focus.
