Well its finally arrived after a 5 week wait i now have my trek 6000 disc!! Now its been a while since i had a bike so after the ride to work this morning (of a marathon 4 miles lol) im feeling the hurt. I have a couple of questions tho, first one is hydraulic disc brakes..... when the wheel is going round its like the disc is catching the pad and making a pinging noise, how do i adjust this? And secondly, the gears are well jumpy when applying pressure to the pedals, is there some where that has a guide to fine tuning gears? [8D]

With juicys, you can aline the discs/calipers by holding the lever down while the disc is on and spining it a couple of times and just lightly pressing the levers down.
Isn't there an online guide or somthing you can look at?
Do a search on www.wikihow.com

Being a new bike there will be a few bits that will settle in with time, gears and brakes in particular. The gear cable just needs tightening a little. so adjust until the gears run smoothly.
Brakes - undo the top caliper mounting bolts so it can slide from side to side. apply the brake and re tighten bolts. repeat if nessisary

Something round here tastes bad. Could be plain old bad taste.

Find where on the disks it is 'pinging' this is the rotor having a slight bend in it. Find which side it is touching and bend it the other way with your fingers. You don't have to be too careful as they spring back into place but don't go overboard.

Dude, did you trace that, from a distance off a diagram drawn by a blind man using his feet from the description given to him by someone that could only use English quotes from the movie of 'Grease'?
