Right, after my off the other day, im in need of JUST knee pads for riding. I have some dainese freestyle knee-shins, but i find that i can't really ride with knee shins on, and i would just prefer some knee pads.
so the Quest is;
Recommend me some knee pads, JUST knee pads, not knee-shins please.

Yeah i brought a pair of 661 kyle straits last summer after trying a few different makes, and these are most comfortable pads i have had.

right, about the kylw straits, will they take big hits reasonably ok? and for those who own them, are they more wear under clothing, or are shorts ok? as i ride mostly in shorts.

they fit under trousers fin as they are quite slim, but certainly bulky enough to take any impact within reaon.
They are soft shell of course, so if you crash in shorts on dirt, they may rip, but mine have been pretty damned tough in the few crashes i've put them through, and i kneel a lot in them digging and such with no issues at all, still like new.
Look fine in shorts, very 'sam hill' race style
