Enclosed chainring?

Anyone know what the chainring system Aaron Chase uses in the "Triktionary" DVD? It appears to be like an enclosed chainring with no chainguide devices etc, that the chain goes through.
Any info would be appreciated

It'll be an E.13 of some sort.

I've since found out it's a custom e-13 proto, not avail to buy. I'm just thinking I might be able to do similar by running one bashguard on either side of the chainring. Need to get a e-13 supercharger anyway so I will fiddle!!0

I think that it is the same one that comes on the Chase 3.
I'm not entirely sure though but I think that has an enclosed chainring.

You can easily do it, take one chainring and 2 bashguards of the same size and using longer chainring bolts, put one bash on either side of the chainring.
Done.

Although that may work you would have to fit spacers between the chainring and the inner bashring to allow clearance for the chain. You would also have to be careful about clearance of the chainstays. The bolts that long would be hard to get and I would have concerns about strength and rigidity.
It would be better to have a second bashguard that would fit onto the inner chainring boltholes.

Or buy an mrp world cup and run it without the boomerang, it comes with two plates.
