EX721 instead.
And a hub that can be converted to 20mm would be nice, too.

i use XT hubs, and ride hard, and am heavy myself, not had a problem with them yet

Fine on the front wheel, unless you want to use 20mm forks in the future. The front hub doesn't really do anything major. It's the rear where you want to spend a bit of money.0

XT hubs are fine but Hope are a bit more reliable and last alot longer if you can wait and save up a bit more.
Merlin cycles do decent deals on custom wheels especially if you buy pairs.
If you only want a front wheel, this one is a better bet in the long run, ok it's œ24 more than your XT one but will last alot longer

You could get a pair of Pro II disc wheels on the excellent XM719 rims for œ220 but it sounds like you're after a wheelset for big drops and jumps so might be better off with the EX729 as you sayDave S0
