how to size a seat clamp

would someone be good enough to point me in the right direction?.
i want to get a q r seatclamp for a giant trance 4,but im unsure how to measure for one.
the outer circumference of the seat tube is approx 34mm,and the inner circumference of the seat clamp i have is approx 36mm.

take the old one off and take into a shop and compare.
never grow up..... just find a bigger playground!
